Pyjama Day Celebrations

19 Jul 2019 1:53 PM -

Today our educators and children celebrated National Pyjama Day by wearing their pyjamas to the centre and doing some fundraising to help raise some much needed funding for children in foster care.  We have registered for a fundraising page for families to donate electronically: https://the-pyjama-foundation.giveeasy.org/campaigns/midson-road-child-care-centre/?updated=true and donations over $2 can be used as a tax deduction.

Please also feel free to share this link with your family and friends too.

The aim of the day is to raise as much funds as possible for The Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program which is offered to children in foster care. The Love of Learning Program is a one-on-one mentoring scheme where volunteers are recruited, screened, trained and matched with a child in care.

Showing our support for the young children who use this program is an opportunity for us to advocate for the UN Rights of The Child - all children have a right to and access to an education. This is an opportunity for us all to reflect upon societal issues and continue the children’s growing understandings of broader community issues as we learn to become active, responsible, empathetic and contributing community citizens.

We would like to thank you all for your ongoing support of our local community and this great project.
